A Letter to an Old Soul

Ok, I wrote a similar note a few blogs back: A Letter to a Young Soul.

Here's another one, still about the dirty word we all love to hate. The FORCE we try to fight, avoid and dismiss as too overrated, overused, abused, weaponized with high grade plutonium that will scare Israel into World War 3: love, luv, lurv, my dripping, sappy heart. Ick.

But beyond all the poetry of that magical fantasy that everyone hopes for: To love and be loved in return---cue Moulin Rouge theme---I have not really met anybody who is immune to this kind of sea sickness, me included.

Amusements: Star Date Log 15-5-2012

Is it easier now? There are a lot more of the anonymous worlds where Narnians and other creatures of the wardrobe can purr and play?

Yes, sometimes we wonder when we wake up if the happy surprise will finally arrive. Will he finally send that stray text or email that will lead to something wonderful. We wish, not too much, but just with a whiff to send us off our day.

We Heart It
We note, wryly and sometimes with a hint of dread, how wicked hope pumps us with anticipation.....

We've had enough false starts to know better and many bated breaths to invest too much..... Enough already. Days that buoy up like helium sheathed in primary colored latex. Days that turn up and then just as easily turn leaden with pins and needles.

Blushing but Brave

"Whoever blushes is already guilty; true innocence is ashamed of nothing." --- Jean-Jacques Rousseau

Shh, don't ask....

Don't ask, baby. Don't tell the boys. Shh....

from Church Cat

The problem with dreams is that, sometimes, you believe they will come true. That's the consequence of falling.

"Boys break down each other’s walls. It’s an exercise in patience, getting a man to surrender to you, but when they do, their body explodes with feelings. They lock themselves up and when someone finally opens the floodgates, a whole lot of everything comes out. They’re a piƱata and you’re carrying the bat.

People always seem to marvel at men who unravel and show their sensitive sides. A woman delights at seeing such a change. It’s such a victory to see a male become unchained to their machismo. When it happens between two men, however, it’s truly magnificent. The sight of two boys loving each other like they’ve been taught not to do is a revelation.

We know what you think of us. We know that there’s this image of gay men just being detached and hungry for sex. There is that. There is a lot of that. But there’s also thoughtfulness, concern, monogamy, Sunday afternoons in bed, I love you babe, I love you a lot, and you make me so happy. There’s so much of that and it’s never really talked about. It’s the secret lives of boys who love boys. Let’s blow the lid off of it, okay? Let’s expose every sweet moment, every kissed neck, every intense hand holding session." (Secret Lives....
